When we arrived in Shanghai, we called a car to take us to the Disneyland Hotel.
When we got there, Elise and I watched Disney cartoons while Mom and Dad checked in. After that, we went to our hotel room. There were two beds for Mom and Dad, and under the TV, a fold-out bed for me. Elise alternated sleeping with Mom and Dad.
When we started getting bored, we went to the Mickey Playhouse where we played Just Dance. Towards the end of the day, we went to dinner at Lumiere’s Kitchen. It was populated by many Disney characters and was decorated with the theme of Beauty and the Beast.
Finally, we went upstairs and went to bed. The next morning, we woke up, had yogurt and got on the shuttle to Disney Town. After we got there, we immediately headed for Disneyland.
We had a plan to hit all of the popular rides before the crowds got bad, so after we got through security, we headed straight for Peter Pan’s flight without stopping to do other rides. The ride had a bunch of TV screens and mannequins that show what happens in Peter Pan. Once the ride ended, we rode Pirates of the Caribbean. It had cooler visual effects than Peter Pan. For example, when the cannons fired, there was a splash in the water. It also had video screens that showed pirates dueling, an imax screen that made you feel like you were falling down, etc.
After Pirates of the Caribbean, we hit Hunny Pot Spin, which was fun too. You get into a honey pot and spin around and around until you feel dizzy. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was like Peter Pan but more reading in Chinese.
Next, we headed to Toy Story Land. We all rode Woody’s Roundup together and then we split up.
Mom and Elise went to take pictures with Woody and Jessie, while Dad and I went to Rex’s Racer.
Rex’s Racer went up and then came down. Each time it came down the speed increased and so did the height.
When it finally stopped, I wobbled off feeling sick. Before we left Toy Story Land, we met up with Mom and Elise to ride Slinky Dog Spin. It went around and around a pile of dog treats and also went up and down. Finally, we headed to Tomorrowland. We all went on Buzz Lightyear together, which is basically a shooting game, where you shoot any “Z” you see.
Next, Dad and I went on Tron together while Mom and Elise went on Buzz Lightyear again. We used our fastpass on Tron so we could cut the line. The people who got on before us got scared and decided not to do it, which I’ll admit, made me a little scared. You are riding on a light cycle. It goes to the launch bay and says 3…2…1…goodbye (in chinese) and then you rocket at incredible speeds to the field where you go against team yellow with sudden drops and sharp turns.
For lunch, we went to Stargazer Grill, which is on the second floor of Tomorrowland like Tron. We ate wagyu beef burgers there.
Finally, we left Tomorrowland, and we started heading to Roaring Rapids. Roaring Rapids is a tube/boat ride where you get carried by the current. You then get taken 40 to 50 feet on a conveyor belt where there is a fake drop and it feels like you are going to drop but there is just a little splash. Next, you go into a cave with dinosaurs and you fall out of the cave. Finally, you come to this huge waterfall that takes you back down to where you started. Dad didn’t let us wear rain jackets, so we were completely soaked and somehow he was not! After that, we went to Camp Discovery and did a rope course with different paths, like choosing to jump over rocks or take a bridge. Mom and Elise finished before Dad and I did because they chose all bridges and we chose everything but bridges. The last thing we did in Adventure Isle was ride Soaring, which is basically a giant Imax theater with wind and smells. Then, we went to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which is a family roller coaster. As the last ride of the day, Mom and I went on Tron while Dad and Elise went on Buzz Lightyear. To end the day, we went to Wolfgang Puck for dinner and then watched the fireworks and light show.
The next day, we got up and got on the shuttle and went to Disneyland. As soon as we got there, we rode Voyage to the Crystal Grotto, which has music, water, and light shows.
Once we finished, we rode Dumbo.
After that, we had treats and watched a Beauty and the Beast show. When the show finished, we went to Roaring Rapids again (with rain jackets this time) and ate at Tribal Table. After lunch, we rode Seven Dwarfs Mine Train again twice! One time with fastpass and one time without. One in front and one in back. Once the ride was finished, we went to the Marvel exhibit.
After that, we split up. Mom and Elise had a two hour princess dress up thing while Dad and I went and hung out around Tomorrowland.
Dad and I rode Tron four times! Next, we took pictures, ate dinner while taking pictures, and then took more pictures.
After the pictures, Dad and I ran and managed to squeeze in one last Tron ride before the fireworks. Tron looked cool at night time.
Finally, we went to find Mom and Elise to watch the fireworks. Once we found them we watched the show. When the show started, we realized it was the same fireworks show as the previous night. Dad said he would have rather rode Tron again (and that is saying a lot because of how many times we rode it). At the end of the day, we got in bed and watched Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl. The next morning, we woke up and had breakfast while watching Tron. After the credits scrolled down the screen, we ate lunch and got disney tattoos. Mere minutes before we left the hotel, we checked out and watched cartoons while we waited for our car to arrive. When the car arrived we hopped in and the driver took us to our apartment in Shanghai.
Looks like the Shanghai Disneyland offers more attractions as compared to the Hong Kong Disneyland! Your descriptions about the park and your activities are very details and vivid! A good blog! Glad that all four of enjoyed the stay!
Wow!!! I know you had an amazing time. Your pictures and description made me feel like I was there with you. I can see why you said it was your favorite thing that you have done on your Asia adventure (I think Mom and Dad had fun, too). Love, Bebe
What great pictures and an even greater narratation of all the events. Evan and Elise look cute in all the costumes. Look forward to seeing you, Love Pipi.

WOW!🤩I went to the HongKong DisneyLand, but that seems like nothing compared to the Shanghai DisneyLand. It looked like you guys a whale of a time.
You’re right, it’s a lot more fun than the one in Hong Kong.
