Macau (August 2019)

We took a taxi to the ferry terminal in Hong Kong and got a hollick, which is a hot drink with ice in it that tastes like cereal. Then, we boarded the ferry. On the ferry, we drank the hollick and ate some raisin bread on the way to Macau. Finally, we got there and met up with my uncles, aunt, and baby cousin (not blood relatives) and went to our hotels.

There are 6 hotels that make up the galaxy hotel complex. My Mom, sister, and I stayed in the Banyan Tree, while everybody else stayed at Hotel Okura. After we checked in, we met up for dim sum.

We had a private room with it’s own tv, couch, and bathroom! After that, we went to a man-made beach at the hotel. First we played in the sand with baby Quintis (my baby cousin).

His mom and dad gave us sand toys to play with. Then we went in the world’s largest skytop wave pool. There were three sections. I named them normal, dangerous, and prepare to fall off your surfboard. Sometimes you couldn’t get to the last ones because the waves were crazy!

Then Uncle Perry and I went on the world’s largest skytop adventure rapids! Unfortunately for me, Uncle Perry pushed me into every waterfall there was! It was bad because there was at least 30 waterfalls!  Then near the end of the day we went to the water slides that were 9 metres tall! There were three of them, The Green-moderate speed, The dark hole-fast, and the Galaxy twister-extreme. Naturally, I chose the Galaxy Twister. After that, we went back to the hotel room and took a shower. There where four showerheads, our toilet was a robot, and we had a Jacuzzi! Our Jacuzzi was ten feet long and 2-3 feet deep.

After we got changed, we went to a Taiwainese restaurant and ate fried intestines! Then we all crammed in a taxi and went to a hotel called the Conrad where Uncle Ivan’s friends would be staying with all expenses paid by Uncle Ivan (though our room had all expenses paid by him too. He makes a lot of money and wins free hotel rooms at the casino)! The room that he bought for them was the biggest room at the Conrad (it even had its own theater)! Elise and I found a bunch of candy, but Mom only let us have two pieces of candy – one for each of us (but we ended up getting two anyway though). After that, we went down to the road to wait for the bus that would take us back to our hotel, but when the bus arrived, Uncle Ivan and Uncle Perry decided that they would go to the casino and gamble for a couple hours before they came back. The bus went to what felt like a million stops including an underground bus parking lot. We were down there for what felt like a million hours but was probably only twenty minutes before we started to move again. Then we got off at our hotel, walked to the elevator, went to the ninth floor, and went to our hotel room. We played for a little while and then went to bed. We woke up the next morning and went out to have breakfast. We had a traditional chinese breakfast that consisted of congee (oatmeal minus the oats and plus some rice), noodles, and dim sum. Then we went to the beach again and had lots of fun navigating huge waves, chilling on the lazy river (though it was more like starting to relax and then getting hit in the face from various water sources), as well as going down all the different water slides many, many, many times.

Then we showered and went to an interactive hello kitty exhibit that had multiple fun rooms to play in. The first room was a room with a bunch of apples you could pop up all over in the various crawlspaces and have lots of fun.

Then there was a room where you saw how much hello kitty likes milk. The next room was a room where there were plastic models of hello kitty wearing headphones that you could stick your head in to hear music.

After that, we went to hello kitty’s tailor shop where you could see a bunch of hello kitty’s jumpers.

In the next room there was a giant ball pit that was shaped like hello kitty’s bow.

After that, we went to hello kitty’s bedroom where it would tell you something about hello kitty when you scanned certain things with your ticket.

Next, we went to a candy themed playground called candyland. The seesaw was an ice cream sandwich! The tire swing was a donut!

Then, we went to hello kitty’s town where you would get a passport with a character’s name from hello kitty and you would have to do whatever was on that character’s agenda.

Finally, we came to the exit and walked back to our hotel. That night, we went to dinner at a Portuguese restaurant named The Dumbo Restaurant.

The beef tongue there was amazing!

Elise and I had some Turkish ice cream for dessert, while Mom and Auntie Claire had some durian (the stinkiest fruit in the world) ice cream. After dinner, we took a taxi back to the hotel and went to bed. In the morning, we tried out the huge bathtub that was shaped like a bucket! After checking out, we took a taxi to the ferry terminal and went back to Hong Kong.
